Corydoras Weitzmani Breeding Journal

Update 1

Since being moved to the breeding tote, ive been feeding 2 times a day, but letting them settle before starting the daily water changes, but even so, they have begun breeding behaviors today.
The boys were chasing the female around the tote today, trying to initiate spawning.

Update 2

A storm rolled through this morning, I did a water change last night.

This morning:

Ive got eggs!!

Ive got a couple fry so far :D
These guys are HUGE compared to other corydoras fry.
Even their eggs were larger.
Which is impressive because these are NOT a large cory, on par with Trilineatus and pandas for size. But the eggs and the fry are larger than Trilineatus fry.

Yay!

Unfortunately the 2 older weitzmani fry were found deceased this morning.
Not 100% cause, just the way it is with fry Unfortunately. Losses happen sometimes without a clear cause.

But ive got more eggs close to hatching all the same :)

Oh no, I'm sorry :( I know it happens, and know that you know that too, but I know you've been looking forward to breeding these guys for so long. Sending good vibes to the other eggs! Come on little babies, grow strong!

I segregated the remaining eggs. I'll see if this helps. Pardon the biofilm.

If this isn't successful, I will try something else.
