Cool Stocking Ideas?

So today i rearranged my room (which is also my fish room) and was wondering if any one had some suggestions for stocking.

brief description of what my 10 gallon is: Obviously a 10 gallon tank, filtration is a HOB filter rated for 20 gallons, just re-did everything when moving room around so its now a sand substrate (thoroughly rinsed play-sand from home depot) Same plants i had in it 2 hours before remodel and same mature filter from before as well. Drift wood and slate aqua-scape. Ph is around 6.5-7.4 and just basic water etc...

Im either looking for some really colorful fish that can be kept with a species of dwarf crayfish i have my eyes on (they don't bother plants or fish, basically just larger shrimp), or something unique or oddball-ish (ive already had experience with dwarf puffers)... so any suggestions are welcome and hope to hear from you all again (have not been on in a while)!

Everyone has their own preference, but for a 10 gallon it seems like you could consider the following list, obviously not all of them!

(I'm not sure about crayfish compatibility)

1. Peppered cory
2. Dwarf gourami (there are several striking color variations)
3. Glowlight Tetras
4. Glofish and/or Zebra Danios
5. Guppies

None of these are unique/oddball - I can think of unique examples, but not anything that would be happy in a 10 gallon.

lol yeah... pretty much the usual.... i was hoping for some sort of corydora, possible pygmy corys? i saw a school of them on youtube and even though they don't really stick to the bottom they look awesome when swarming haha ... what about a small school of pygmy corys, and just out of sheer curiosity, is there any south American dwarf cichlids that might be suitable for a sandy 10 gallon with a school of small pygmy corys? or is the tank to small period for any dwarf cichlid even if just like one male?

In my opinion 10 gallons is too small for Dwarf Cichlids, but there is always someone that will say differently. I have Bolivian Rams and keep two in a 26 gallon. The pygmy cory idea is great - I cannot get them locally or would already have some. If you put a big shoal in the 10 gallon that would look pretty cool.

yeah ive heard like 50/50 opinions on weather or not dwarf cichlids from SA do fine in a 10 gallon.... what about ember tetras and a school of panda corys?

IMO Dwarf Cichlids are more than a possibility in a 10g - Laetacaras are pretty ideal in that size tank given their documented small territory space (approx 6 or 7 inches sq). The Ember Tetra ideal would be good or any dwarf Tetra you can find might take a bit of research and trecking to find the right ones though. Instead of Panda Cories I would go for the dwarf species like Pygmy or Hasbro etc.

To be fair though I would take it Asian tons and tons of micro Danios and Rasboras - Moth Catfish and Badis are all great fish A few species of Micro Loach around as well

wow i really am loving these Laetacara curviceps! Ill have to do some research on them!
