I'M new to this hobbyand started off with 6 Serpae Tetras for the first week . All went well. On Saturday I bought 4 Black Neon Tetras and 2 Pepper Cory's. Since I added them to the tank the Serpea's have intimidated the Cory's all the until now I can only see 1 and the other spends his tme sitting on top of the filter casing. Any advice

You've got the classic accidental start that we see here many times per month where you didn't get a chance to have some nice long discussions with the members about the choices of fish that would be best and that would get along together. Stay a bit longer and the members will surely give you some good ideas for your problems.

Did you "cycle" the tank? That's the term we use for a process that's used to prepare the biofilter function of the aquarium filter. The filter is not really operational and ready for fish prior to this having occurred and will present a significant problem if its your situation that this wasn't known about. Again, post this up here and people will help.
