Hi all,
does anyone know why my congo tetras haven't coloured up?
I bought them as a shoal of six juveniles around 3 months ago.
They are in a 48x15x18 tank with healthy plant growth. Tank mates are
6 guppies
3 mollys
3 platys
2 neons, the other 8 became congo food. ooops!
6 phantom tetras
3 cories, Jullii
4 clown loach
2 siamese fighters, female
1 male
Feeding is varied and as frequently as I pass the tank. Artemia, daphnia, bloodworm, catfish pellets and flake food(2 brands)
Ammonia, nitrate and nitrite read nil.
I live in southampton so water is hard and around pH 8 but in the tank falls to pH 7
I change about 15-20% of the water at least every fortnight.
I've treated for whitespot using protazin (clown loach!)
I run a fluval 404 canister filter on the tank.

PS. glad to be here, interesting stuff goin' on.

I wouldn't worry, unless you have only brought females the males should colour up soon, have any started to develop longer finnage? :)

Jings! That was quick. Thanks Ryan. I think perhaps it's a bit early to sex them, 2 inches? Some have the very slightest of white tinge on the dorsal fin. but other wise they are just happy shiney fish zipping around in a shoal playing in the filter current.

I agree with Ryan, I think they are still a little small.
