exactly what are coldwater fish? becideds fish that live in cold water

Non tropical species i supose

such as
goldfish,orfe,carp,rudd,tench, etc

When they say coldwater by that it means you do not need a heater as you would for tropical fish, but infact goldfish prefer room temperture which is 68f /22c you can also have whitecloud mountain minnuews + a few others in a room temperture tank and hillstream loaches like cool water, so there are a selection of coldwater fish besides goldfish.

In my coldwater tank I have catfish, giant danio's, white cloud mountain minnows, long tailed leopard danio's, a female guppy, algae eaters and pearl danio's so there is a lot of variety out there if you're not into goldfish...which I have in another tank as they started eating my smaller danio's!
