How should one clean ornaments in a fish tank ?

Take the out, and scrub them with a sponge. Make sure the sponge has no chemicals, or bad stuff like that. Don’t use any soap either, just hot water.

I scrub them with hot water and fairly soft scrub brush ... then rinse in more hot water

How should one clean ornaments in a fish tank ?

Back in the day, I had plastic plants and such. I would periodically run them through the dishwasher with either bleach or white vinegar. They came out like they were brand new! I rinsed again by hand just to be sure. I did this every few weeks or once a month for a very long time and never had a problem.
