Then my elusive BN plec turns up and everybody is chased away as its his cucumber

Just curious on how you mimic the "cool down period" for the gymnogeophagus. Wouldn't it stress all of the other fish?

They are Geophagus Surinimensis they dont need the cool period, different families from different part of South America.

@ Nelly, no light in the cucumber, just the way the pics come out

@ Bettaboy, as Wills says, they are G.Surinamensis and unlike gymno species, do not require a cool down period so the problem does not arrive.
