Chocolate Gourami Species Tank

Got a VERY good deal, swapped a Leopard gecko for a 18x9x9 with lights, filter etc... so i set it up with mature filter media, left it a day, then DIY'd some LEDs aswell as a T8, LOTS of light , its setup as a blackwater tank, i MAY add a few dwarf corys and maybe a shoal of small tetra but i'm focusing on the Gourami at the minute, one passed away sadly, to larger one too but i'm adding 3 more to the group next weekend, 5 should keep them very happy and secure, need to work on the scape, looks POO at the minute Gonna get pics soon... promise

Blackwater extract added, PH is stable at 6.5, Spraybar added to increase water movement at top of water, had dead spots
Added 3 more so i now have a group of 5, they immediately looked happier as a group. Looking at getting a brineshrimp factory going to keep a permanent flow of food going for them

I looked into these, i spoke to a local Gourami expert/breeder and there was no chance. It's not the Ph you want to be looking at really, it's the GH/KH of the water. These fish normally live in really really soft water, as in a GH of 0-3. You won't get this unless you're using pure RO. The Ph they live in is normally 5 ish.

I'm currently using HMA with blackwater extract, bogwood in tank also, so the water is pretty identical besides GH and Kh... Pure RO it is i think!
I'm really considering buying another 10 and putting them in my main tank and rehoming the rest!
