Has anyone modified the ligthing on an Arcadia Classica 50L rectanngular tank, so that they can put a more powerful light in it, like for reef keeping? or maybe somehow attach two bulbs. I need a way to make the lighting in my tank more powerful for soft corals. At the moment i have a 15w 14,000K Marine White Light with a reflector. http://www.classica-aqua.com/product.php?p...p;sub=&id=5. Its the rectangular one.

Never done it on this tank, but it should be possible. You have two options;

1) Ditch the hood and buy an overtank luminer, or a hanging pandant to go in it's place

2) Find a way of modifying the hood

I personally favor option 1. Ebay seller EQJ trading do some realy good units at very competitive prices. Best deals are to be had on Saturday Evening ;) Their service is excellent also :good:

If you want to go down option 2., could you post a picture of the underside of the hood so we can give some surgestions of possible mods to do? :good:

For Softies, you generaly aim for 4 T5 tubes, or two PC's over the tank, but you can get away with 3 T5 or 1PC at a push with some species :good:

All the best
