Hi

Please can someone help??

I noticed last night before going to bed that the mouth of my female betta looked as though it had lost its colour!

This morning i found i dead!!!

The only reading i have for my water are Ammonia and Nitrite at 0.25 & 0, respectively. I am due to carry out a water change today.

Please advise

Current stocking?

Sounds like Fungas infection..

I Hate fungas infection. Killed 4 of my Mollies.

ok. Here's what i say you should Do.

Do a water change ASAP! And If you can. Go to the LFS and ask for some "Fungas infection treatment" Just to make sure

Was there any kind of Wierd behaviour?

Eg : Not Swimming/Staying at the bottom?

I have sectioned off a section of the tank while i wait for my new on to cycle, so only got 1 x male betta and 2 (now 1 female). Section size 30x30x30cm

Behaviour normal.

Any certain anti-fungal brand ??

I Will Look some up with some good Members who are better at this stuff then i am :good: give me a few minutes mate!

Also.

What country are you from?

Dont buy any Treatments from sites witch look untrustworthy.

Buy them from offical Sites...

I Cant find a treatment for you.

Best chanch is ask the LFS They'll proberly know what one is the best.

Dont buy anything too cheap or too expensive..

Buy both "Ick" Treatment and "Fungas Infection" Treatment.

Dont add any of the treatments to your tank unless your certian thers a parasite/ Infection in your tank :good: Will Look forward to seeing your set up one day! :D

Sounds like columnaris.
Uk myxazin by waterlife.
United States maracyn.

Thanks for the info Wilder :good: .

I have given the them 3 days worth of Myxazin, but they are still dying!

Ive now lost 7 (!!!!!!!) fish in five days! Is this to be expected???

Its the first illness i have encountered, and if im honest Im freaking out. Out of all my fish i really get upset if i loose my male betta or my salfin pleco.

How many gallons is the tank.
Do you have water stats.

Decrease temp by 2 degrees.
Have you increased aeration.

COLUMNARIS<br />The hospital tank should be heated to approx. 74 degrees. 76 and above is the ideal breeding temperature for columnaris. Though there is some dispute over lowering the temperature, my experience has been that 72 is too low for the medication to work rapidly, 76+ causes the disease to breed more rapidly than the anti-biotic can kill, and 74 is "just right." Remember to keep this temperature stable

The tank is 82 litres.
The only tank stats i have are Ammonia = 0 and Nitrite = 0 current temp is 74F. I saw in a previous post to drop the temp to 74.

I already have an airstone, and have my Fluval U3 set on the max aeration setting.

Sadly, I dont have a hospital tank.

Also pick up some pimafix.
As in the uk for columnaris you need myxazin by watelife and pimafix.

What is pimafix ?

Ive also added some aquarium salt, but am a bit concerned at the amount that is needed! 16 x 5ml spoons!!! But the box does not say how often to do this!
