Hello, i have a twenty gallon tank that i would like to add a catfish into. I have seven guppies, a snail and a red cherry shrimp. Is there any species of catfish that i can keep with my fish and inverts without having to get a whole bunch of them. I want only one, not a whole bunch, just one catfish that can explore the tank.......

There are several plecos that may be what you're after. Bristlenose are sweet catfish that don't get too big and can be kept singly.

What are the dimensions of your tank, OP, and is your water hard or soft?

The question posted by fluttermoth is a good and valid question.

The water parameters and dimensions of the tank would be MOST useful in determing what may or may not be suitable for your tank.

There are a number of bottom dwellers that could be suitable, but that will depends largely on your water hardness/softness.
