Can it really rain fish? you all know it has happend in many part of the world.

i have witness it my self.. not while raining.. but few hours after the tropical monsoon.
yes its something similar to killifish. done by goverment to stop mosquito spreading.

but there is big time fish rains.... how is it possible? must be fake..

I heard, that after the big tsuanamis (that how it's spelt?) that some aid workers were getting on with a clear up, only to be mobbed by lots of fish....although, turned out to be a load caught up in a tree and them working around it, dislodged them or something.

I have read of scientificly confirmed cases of fish being rained but only because they where sucked up by a water spout and "rained" on land.

Wild guppies have been spread all over the world for mosquito control. I found them in the storm drains in Douala, Cameroun.

Yep but by the time they hit the ground they usally are dead and dismemebered, also I have red about cases of frogs being rained.

It happens when the fish are swept up usually by a tornado, hurricane or similar, when the tornado dies out over land it releases everything it is carrying in its air column ie fish and I'm pretty sure there was a scuba diver too, or was that just on CSI? 30 miles inland.

I dont no about csi but that did really happen, I remember reading about it quiote a while ago. It was a forest fire, Helicopters were picking water iup from the near by sea with giant water bags and the unlucky chap got scoped up with it and died as a result of the fall or the fire

csi was a diver up a tree after a helicopter picked him out a lake to put out a forest fire

Well... In SA we have a saying that it is Raining "cats & Dogs".... ... Never seen it though, but one thing I've seen.... I was standing next to one of my outside ponds, and out of the blue, a frog "ploffed" into the pond...... I later deducted that a bird caught a frog from a nearby pool and dropped it into my pond as it flew over..... Rare, but I saw it.

First of all, the scuba diver in the forest fire is an urban legend; fully de-bunked at Snopes.com here; http/www.snopes.com/horrors/freakish/scuba.asp
I'm sure they did it on Mythbusters once too

Second; fish falls...that's a tricky one. There are lots of reports of fish, frogs and sometimes other things falling from the sky. I read a magazine called Fortean Times which quite frequently covers what are called 'falls from the skies'. The usual explanation is that the fish have been sucked up by a whirlwind or tornado, but that fails, really. Most of the falls are of only one species of fish (or frog), so why would a whirlwind pick up only one species? Where are the other fish, the pond weed etc? Some people have speculated the whirlwinds and tornados 'sort' the fish according to weight as they spin them up, but then you'd expect other falls of different sized fish in neighbouring areas and that doesn't seem to ever happen. Most of the fish falls are isolated incidents from clear skies. There really hasn't been a comprehensive explanation as yet and it remains a bit of a mystery, but definitely not a fake, Vin Swords
