Boring Old Guppies

Here's some of my guppies. Sorry most of them are out of focus. They're fast little guys and gals.

Older male role model, apparently.

Could NOT get this guy to slow down. I love the mostly black tail.

Guppies in think any one that keeps fish should keep them at least once. Yours look very happy. The photo of the female came out great. The last photo is potm quality.

I think guppys are very underated! You have some beautiful fish there. I have just purchased 6 baby fan tailed males after being put off for years buying any as they kept dying one by one a few days after going into the tank even though its a mature tank , the stats were spot on and I did everything right putting them in. But this lot ive had for 2 weeks now and they are looking good and are such great little characters! :good:

The title of this topic was facetious ... I LOVE my guppies! They're such curious and silly fish I can't help but watch them for long stretches. I honestly don't think they're boring at all. That sentiment was shared on another topic I had about guppies, and I just had to laugh at it because they're so NOT boring! I especially am enjoying watching them mature from little fins with eyes into gorgeous fan-tailed creatures right in front of me.

So can anyone tell me what the first one is called? I had called it a snakeskin but was told I was wrong. I'm interested in pursuing breeding some more beauties but not unless I can identify them!

I have had the same experience, had them for a day or two and they start to die off. Water stats are fine and nothing else in there to kill them. It did put me off although I'm a fan of them. Getting them to stay alive was the problem.

Great looking fish in the pictures by the way. They're all very active.

I had thought that guppies were the easiest fish to raise, but after reading a lot on this forum I see that's not true. I wonder why they die off? I've only had one die, and she was the oldest of the bunch so it may have been old age? But she was producing fry until a month before she went so happy for that. I just wish there was a place where I could sell off some of the beauties I have without having to post them. I'm so afraid the traveling will kill them!

If you do decide to post them I'll take a few as I'm buying lfs display tanks as they're going out of business and I'm getting 18 tanks really cheap. (My girlfriends idea as she wants more livebearers) they'll probably be species tanks.
