Big Grumpies Spawn Log - Giants Pair

Grumpy is Grumpy.
He has moved the cup and the nest to the corner above the heater and turned it around so that it faces the wall. Now i can't see the Eggs.

Grumpy has been such a good father and Built Such a Big nest that he pushed them all against the top of the cup and they dried out today.
Came home and can't see any wrigglers in the water.
At least i know he does a good job.
will have to wait for the female to be ready again.

try breeding them on a flat piece of polystyrene e.g. i cut the bottom of a polystyrene plate out and floated that in water, they bred underneath it very well, hopefully going to have some more soon :hyper:

thanks

paul

Blimey, you were unlucky.....there should have been loads of free swimmers after 6 days :(

yea try the flat piece that way no matter how thick the nest he cant put them too much above water, on my guys first try he stoped taking such good care of them that i removed him and lowered the water to about a inch, they still hatched on their own and i got about 20 to 30 fry even with him completly forgeting about them for a whole day.

Thanks Guys,
I guess this was really a trial run for the pair. But i am reconditioning the female so hopefully within a few weeks she will e ready.
She is very aggressive and forceful so she should be ready quickly.
