 So my 100 gal is looking full and I know it is over stocked but they get along and deal with it. Tonight I was watching them and my True parrot grabbed my small red severum but the throat and took some scales. It was very uncool and the meanest thing I have seen go down in the tank. SO I know I need to let some of the fish go but I can't make up my mind. I am thinking the Parrot is going to have to go he will get too big and is not as fun as my others. My green severum nip has to stay thats one fish I will never let go. I'm have grown to love the Mafia aka my Uarus I think they might be stunted too They had a hard life as you might remember .

right now don't yell at me but this is the stock.

1 Green severum 6"
1 Red severum 3.5"
2 uaru 5-6"
1 ebjd 4" and stopped growing he's deformed.
1 Blue acara 4" and 3 yr done growing
1 buffalo head 4" I love this guy also was a rescue
1 True parrot 5"
and
3 Pictus cats.

I know way too much. So the ones I must keep are The Green severum and the buffalo head. All others I'm willing to work with. Its so hard for me to decide because I love them all for different reasons. I don't want any to go but right now I have no choice.

I'm thinking could work for a while.
2 Severums
2 Uaru
1 buffalo head
3 pictus cats

I don't know.... This is sad.

Shame your in America, i'd take your deformed EBJD off you. Alas, its not to be.

Your selected possibility looks good to me, certainly an improvement on what you have. I think enough is said about your current stocking, you yourself realise its over stocked and i shall leave it at that.

Oh yeah I know I'm way way over stocked. But what to let go.. It's so hard. All are healthy and well but I can't keep this for long. I could let the parrot and uarus go then I would be back to what my first plan. But the uaru have really grown on me more so then the parrot. The true parrot just looks awesome that's about it. My uarus are very entertaining and so smart it's scary. Haha. Honestly I will be suprised if the uarus grow any more. I know they came from a poor lfs. Then I saved them from very poor conditions they must be stunted. But my severum keeps growing.

My ebjd is a deformed runt but I think I can find space for him in my other tank since he seems to have stoped growing.

So the true parrot and blue acara will need to go and the ebjd will be moved or rehomed.:( I wish i had more fish people that lived near me or a fish club would be nice because trying to find good homes is so hard.

Sounds like you've already really decided what's staying and what's going. SOunds like a decent plan to me.

What are the dimensions of this tank? Is it a 4x2x2? I would probably re home the parrot which is a real shame as I know how made up you were when you got him but other than that I would keep it as it is. Or could the BA not go in your festivum tank?

Wills

You can do it this way, then you'll be aokay.
2 uaru
1x severum
1x blue acara
2x pictus
1x bufflohead
and when you return the others if you are a catfish fan you can add a rapheal cat or 2.

Yeah Its a shame I have to let the parrot go but they get so big and he is kind of a passive agressive jerk haha. The tank is 60"x16"x24". There is a chance I could get a larger tank once we move so I would like to keep my baby gold severum. But Flagtail that stock does sound the best thanks. I do love cat fish but have been looking at Bichir And thinking they look so cool. But they get too long so never mind.

I'm so mad I let my huband talk me out of a 72" 125gal because that's what I was going to get. Oh well

I hate parrots! they bite everything they see! they killed my jack dempsey, injured an angel really badly, almost killed a convict and killed everything else i put in the tank!

I assume you mean the hybrid variety of parrot and not a "true parrot" as shown in snowflakes avatar pic...?

Anyway one fish can't really be judged on for the whole species, each cichlid has it's own personality

I'm not talking about the freak hybrids. I'm talking about the true parrot the Hoplarchus psittacus. Are we talking about the same fish? Because mine is pretty nice most of the time unless pissed off.

Now I'm thinking I should let the uaru go since they do take up a lot of space. This is so hard to deside. The plan all along was going to be
2 severums
1 true parrot
1 ebjd
3 pictus cats

Maybe I should stick the the plan. But the severums and parrot don't always get along. But the uarus keep the peace. I need a bigger tank. Maybe I can make a deal with the husband.

I feel your pain! I am in a similar situation with my 5 ft and know it is overstocked but don't know who to let go, good luck deciding!

Yeah the uaru are fun and have lots of personality. My best friend stayed with me for a week and slept in the fish room. She really liked the uarus. The parrot does kind of get over looked in my tank because she always stays to her self and is not very out going. Problem is I will not just drop my true parrot off at any LFS. I will start looking for a home for him.

Agreed. If you ship him, I'll take him... :) Just kidding.
