Hey, this is my first post. Pardon me if this is already a topic, but I could not find it on your fourm
I have had 30g fish tank for almost 2 years now. I have been keeping a variety of fish in small schools (2-3). I have kept zebras, mollies, swordtails, platys and barbs. I have also added a zebra nerite snail recently to work with my algea. Most of my fish live long healthy lives.
Both times I have introduced a pair of Balloon Platies into my tank, they have lived between a month and two months and then died. I have kept close watch on my fish and the balloon platies are not getting picked on, not sick when entering my tank and my temp/levels are in the ranges that are recommended in my fish book.
I really think that these are amazing fish and would love to keep a pair in my tank. A) Am I doing something wrong or B) Do balloon platies have special needs that I am not addressing. I dont want to put a new pair in my tank only to have them die!
