Bad Betta

You'd be surprised how well the filter will do to clear it. Just be aware that it will get blocked really quickly as it's clearing sand particles aswell as general dirt.
If it were me I'd probably get as much sand out as possible and give it a good wash then put it back in. Otherwise it should settle overnight, but it may not go 100% clear.

I thoroughly cleaned my sand before it went in, and it's been in for around 6months. But I'd done a HUGE tank clearout that day and stirred all the sand up. So it went a bit cloudly.

You could always do a few 50% water changes maybe? Just to clear the water a bit (being careful not to stir the sand up again when you replace the water).
Otherwise hopefully it should settle in the next 24hours or so. Aswell as some particles being trapped in the filter of course.

Im glad you have your tank situation sorted make sure you post some pics when its all done. The way i stop sand from getting cloudy when i do water changes in my tank is i use somthing usally my hand to stop the sand getting disturb as much, which means its less cloudy, like Curiosity101 said a water change will take away some of the cloudiness. And also it will make up for you not washing the sand.
 
You could always pop him back in the 7l for 20mins or so to give you a chance to clean the sand maybe?
Or a 100% water change by refilling the tank using a saucer (tea saucer, side plate etc) to stop the water from disturbing the sand again, wouldn't be a bad alternative.
It's the same theory as TonyM using his hand. But obviously you don't have to get wet this way! :D
 
Done a 50% water change :)

I need to cycle this tank now :)

Oh and convince my bf to fit the light... but I think he has fallen out with me as he said I am obsessed with fish!!

or a saucer i forgot about that one good thinking lol.
 
Not working for me ither, ill put them up for you if you like :)
But i dont know how i'd do it as you'd need to send them to me like so i have them on my computer, instead ill give you a method,
Go to www.imageshack.us, then underneath the browse bit youll see a sizes scrool bar select the websites and emails size, then browse your pic, it will take 5 mins max to upload sometimes even faster, then when its done copy and paste the code, then at the start of the code add a
Hope you understand lol its complicated XD But for expmple say this is my code 6hs7977, if i wanted it to be displayed as a picture then it would be :)
 
Looks like a bog standard common pleco to me. With a fully grown size of 60cm (ish).

Shame about the cloudiness but I'm sooo happy to see rufus in there!
Can you see how much easier it will be to plant in aswell? You can make him a really nice proper little home in there. :good:

Cheers.... however he was getting stressed out chasing the sand around and eating it :eek:

Will the cloudiness ever go away??

Oh dear I will change some more of the water tonight.... what an idiot I am lol.

Is there anything else I could do to speed it up??
