how about green eye tetra ? just googled 'tetra' to see what came up and i'd not seen these before, most of the google results for "green eye tetra" show a black and yellow horizontally striped fish, is this correct ? they would look quite nice.

just read a 2006 item reporting these as a new found breed, along with the very similar lead tetra, and it mentioned probably not seeing any in the hobby anytime soon. anybody know if they've cropped up yet ?

cant help you with the tetra, but i would be careful with non-aq plants. If it dies (which im guessing it will at some point) it could unload lots of ammonia and otehr nasties into your tank quite quickly and be bad for your fish...
Keep a close eye and you should be OK though
