Argos Play Sand

Hey peeps not been on here in a while been pritty busy, so I currently have black gravel an use to have sand what the tank came with and I want to go back iv seen people say they have argos play sand but is it safe to use an does it look good?

play sand and pool filter sand are safe, and cheap, few problems

• compaction with play sand, can cause toxic gases to form
• takes a longggggggggg time to clean, you want to wash it until theres no cloudiness
• can raise pH

But other than that no  much issues, i use play sand in my 55 gallon.

yeah I was just going to stick it in a bucket with a hose pipe an leave it for a hour or 2, do you know how much it can raise the pH ?

Mine lowered it 1.0 actually.

O yea your right, its more akaline, so it would lower it right? I dont think mine was really affected at all... hmmm

Hi, I've just finished cleaning my Argos Sand, here's a pic for colour reference. I tried Toys R Us first and its very red so I'd definitely go with Argos

Can be a bit bubbly when cleaning though.
