Aquarium Systems Inc. Tank Heater - Halp!

I just bought an Aquarium Systems Inc. 50w Aquarium Heater. My curent heater failed and poor Splish is getting chilly! The model I bought has no special name, but seems to match the websites model at this page for the Visi-Therm® Deluxe.

The model has two bracket with suction cups attached to them, to attach it to the side of the tank. The problem is, the brackets and the suction cups are left ot me to attach. And I can't figure out how to do this! Has anyone else used this model, and had success? What's the secret?

Obviously, if it was as simple as pushing the knob on the suction cup into the hold on the bracket it's obviously supposed to go in, I would have don't it already. But it doesn't, and no amount of pushing seems to make it want to go.

Normally fitting heaters to clips is a sasy as A.B.C. Cant see you problem really.
Take a little pic (camera phone) and lets see your predicament so as we can offer further advice.

I think I bought the same thing as you yesterday. Does the temperature adjuster at the top look like a red witches hat? (pointy cone shape?) If so - yes the suctions cups are a bu&&er to fit What you need to do is hold the suction cup at an angle to the hole - make sure one little bit of the cup is in the gap then twist the suction cup round and round adding pressure (IYSWIM)

ETA - you can't just push them straight in - you are likely to break the holder that way

The 2 suction cups actually fit into the bracket, so that the bracket sticks to the glass with the suction cups and the the heater slides into the bracket. Thats what i did with my visitherm heater. GRJ

If it's any consolation, I actually broke the bracket on mine whilst trying to fix it. Doh!

If it's that bad then just nip out and buy a cheap universal heater holder from your LFS.
