Chill out Dude, no need to get offensive.

All I recommend at the moment is you show some respect.

I hope you guys do alot of water changes for those fish.

glad someone likes/recognizes it!
it took me ages to get it to the right file size!

Keep in mind when you take a look at some members lists they are also newer into the hobby and will run into their own problems in the future that they may or may not be aware of. Cichlids, and many other fish, get more and more territorial and aggressive as they mature, and many species that may be perfectly mild in a large tank can get downright mean in one too small. Although choosing random fish and throwing them together to see what happens is an accepted method of stocking by many, that doesn't make it the ideal method.

The fact is if you want the Calvus you will need to set up a new home for them. Instead of just throwing fish in, perhaps you can create a cool little near-biotope of Tanganyika - the results can be very rewarding and you would see the fish thrive in a way they won't in fish salads.

Yeah man I totally agree.

when I started, I was like " OK Well I'll just see how it goes"

I now have a Red Zebra Cichlid
A Black Calvus
Redtailed Black Shark -_-
Bristlenose Plec :fun:

in a 25G

I am going to get a bigger tank for the Cichlids.....but .... ooops

They are from different lakes as well

Calvus + zebra never really fight but keep goading each other
Calvus did chase after him at first but has stopped now he fights back.
Calvus goes for BN Plec twice the size of him if he strays onto his patch. I've got
video footage of this, but not sure how to post that on this site :sly: The only time BN Plec does stand his ground is if there is cucumber to eat then he chases off the Calvus the Zebra and the RTBlack Shark.

Poor old Redtail minds his own business and seems to spend most of his time skimming round everyone elses territory. He trys to make friends and is OK with the BNose Plec (Unless cucumber is on the menu!!) but the mean Cichlids chase him off, he's too quick so they never catch him.

They are all about 2 1/2 inches long apart from the Plec that is 4 1/4 Inches.
I do a water 1/3 water change every week to keep the water nice for them.

But as soon as i spot a bargain on Ebay....at least 55Gal on the horizon.
Gonna leave the RTBshark in 25G with the BNose and get some nice pals for them.

I always wanted RTBshark to be boss in the tank.....hmmm should have not got Cichlids in the same tank really, but i was naive to the fish world. :alien:
