Just picked up an Aquastart 320 from a car boot for £8 ( around $14 ) :hyper: They're £40-50 ( around $75 ) brand new. So I've saved a great deal! :good:

It came with a heater, and the original undergravel filter system. I won't be using the undergravel though as they are really crap filters. I have a Rena Filstar to go in there instead. It also came with some black roman gravel ( my favourite colour! ) and a fake root which he'll love.

Bronson's 5 gal hex is a fishRfun brand tank, but an old one with the huge resistor plug on it. The plug has finally died and you can't buy them in shops so the hood is now useless . I was going to modify the tank and replace the broken hood with a sheet of perspex but now I don't need to because I have this Aquastart.

BARGAIN.

I'll take some pics now I've cleaned everything, and I'll take more when it's set up.

Lucky, been round 3 car boots today and found nothing.

Car boot sales. Seriously. Go to a few different ones if you can, not just the same one every week.

I saw 3 tanks, all 5 gals+ . All a fiver or less. This was the best of the lot though and has a working light which is what I needed. If mother would have allowed it I'd have had all 3 tanks!!

That is a bargain!!!
saw 3 at our local one but they were the plastic ones with purple lids, not for me im afraid!!!

Wow, I'd never really thought of going to the car boot sales for tanks, might have to give it a go when I've got a free weekend :)

They're good for spares or hospital/quarantine tanks though. Being light mkes them easy to store in a loft or on top of the wardrobe out of the way. They are rather ugly it's true. Things aimed at attracting the interests of children usually are.

Good luck and always check down the sides of the cars and under the tables; they are often a little too heavy to sit on those pasting tables people use so they stick them underneath where they may not always be noticed . :good:

Thanks for the tip :)

Unfortunately I work most Saturday and Sunday mornings so I generally miss the car boot sales, but I'll try and score a weekend off soon XD
