I'm rather bored so its all going to rhyme
That is unless I run out of time
I was pondering about finding a way,
To keep an anemony and not make corals pay.
It occured to me that you need good light
To keep one showing good colors with all its might.
Also that isolation in its new home
Was the only way to make sure it didnt roam.
in a short hex tank it would be happy under metal halide
If to hot it did not grow inside.
So why not plumb it into a closed circuit line
To bring it fresh cool water from a larger tank of thine
The circuit would carry hot and fowled water off
Leaveing a happy pet, and maybe a clown fish named "moff".
Now the critter could be put anyware you like to view
so long as the plumbing wasnt to much for you.
Should I draw up some plans, What do you think?
Is it a good idea or does it belong in the drink?

My face couldnt be any redder :*)
But I'd like to see you do better :kana:

Its short for Mr. Karkaroff, this is my edit
Cmon now folks give me some Credit.

Much has been said of our tentacled friend,
Mainly how they die in the end.

With conditions and parameters you must be strong,
So you don't shorten a life that was once very long.

Conditions must be stable to avoid any stress,
I have had trouble yes I confess.

Awww, I am not that bored...

I do have a couple of anemonies. A couple are flowerpot types in rocks and they are happy where they are at.

My pride and joy is a sebae that has grown three times it's size in the last eighteen months.

The secret is having good tank conditions where the guy will soon find a suitable location, and stay there. Then, be very cautious in changing the environment to any degree around it.

I think the five dollar Haitian or Atlantic anemonies are the most frustrating. They are readily available, cheap, and usually displayed in a tank full of clowns playing in them. But these are the ones IMO that are the gardest to make happy.
Ever notice they are almost always in tanks that are bare cept for substrate? They just finally settle anywhere because it is all the same to them. I believe that they are stressed from that kind of environment and are already a losing proposition when you purchase them.

If you really really want an anemone, buy a more pricey type that the shop owner or individual has had for a while and is obviously healthy and taken care of.

What a great rhyming scheme
You two would make a great team!

It sounds awesome,
and looks like fun!

if I can only rhyme
As easily as you on a dime.

My poetry sucks
So you may as well shut me up.

I will leave that up to you
For I havent got a clue!

Oh by the way,
Your idea is something to say!

Okay now to say what I couldnt with rhyme

The idea is to let the anemony find a place where it is comfortable on the rock and then put it (preferably on the same rock) into a 20 gallon hex or something symilar in size and plumb that in with approximately as much flow as it was getting before then place it under light of a symilar strength and spectrummaybe even on a pedestule so it could be viewed from all sides and yes maybe even tossing in a pair of clownfish.

Basicaly it would be a refuge, and everyone could be happy to sit round and watch the clowns, even your nonaquarist friends would enjoy. All the benefits, none of the risks

Sounds like an good idea provided that you can the lighting and water movement and anything else these things want almost the same to prevent it moving.
