I was at my lfs today and they told a guy not to get a black ghost knife because it gets large and has a demanding diet, it's a first around here. I think I'v found a lfs to start supporting.

Fortunately I live in an area where there are 2 to 3 really good LFS. The problem is that 1 has really good advice and bad tanks and the other has really good tanks and bad advice. It's great though when you can get a combination of both. I'm happy you found a good place though!

Well I have one large store, feels like a warehouse and they have rows of tanks and sometimes they have knowledgable people sometimes they don't since they need so many people, and another store has great tanks and great staff, aquarium adventure but there far away and the three stores by me aren't that great but this one is.

glad to hear you've got a good lfs near you, it's always good to have at least one you can trust. I'd give my lfs an A too, they have a fantastic range of pl*cos and oddballs, and gave me all the correct advice when bought my pl*co this morning

my nearest good LFS isn't that far from me, but it is tiny and doesn't have much of a selection, there are 2 other shops around 45 mins away from me, Birley's (good store, 10% discount to PFK readers I think) and wharf aquatics - it's such an awesome shop *starts drooling

never asked advice from Birleys, and wharf generally gives out good advice, they sold a fahaka puffer whilst I was there, gave good info out - no tankmates e.t.c.

I have 3 good lfs around me, but i can only get the bus to two of them. I've just finished my work experiance in one of them and have just been offered a Saturday job!
