my tank has a bad alge prblem it only started when we got our 3 bronze corys i change the water every week i used a magic sponge on the inside of the tank but its back within a few days. wot am i doing wrong for this to happen?

Probably an ammonia spike, for more help we need to determine what kind of algae it is. Can you get a picture?

the camera wont pick it up. Its all over my plant and the tank. Im worried because ive got 8 platy fry only a couple of days old.

this sounds really stupid but my boyf does the testing as he was the 1 that got shown how to read it (by colour not numbers). But when we test the water yesterday it was all perfect.

We really need the results in terms of numbers to be able to help, one person's definition of perfect may be different to anothers.

If you can could you please get your bf to re-test the water and post the results.

Strip tests are useless im sorry to say,

Get your self a good liquid test kit such as API Freshwater Master test kit they are easy to use and very reliable.

In the mean time i would do a 30% water change and keep the tank as dark as possible.

A black out may rid you of it but the most important thing is to get your water quality right first.

Agree with forestpisces, the test strips are really unreliable, you may as well just guess your results

I recommend getting a good liquid based test kit, the preferred one as mentioned is the API freshwater master kit
