Yea, they were the ones suggested. Not sure if I should go for the 1500lph as I think the lighting is quite high and I am desperate to sort this algae out! :/

Should I do another blackout when the powerhead arrives or, wait and see if the BGA disappears with the increased flow and regular water changes every other day?

I want to avoid it getting a nasty hold in the tank again as it is so foul smelling! :(

Thanks once again.

Wait and see if it disappears. Until the powerhead arrives, carry out the water changes and make sure to dose straight afterward. Vacuum up any decaying waste. Also, BGA usually works its way up from the bottom of the gravel upwards. So there is technique that people use where you slide an old credit card between the glass and the gravel to eliminate it there. Should help it coming up. Remove any you can see on the gravel too. Might be tempted to feed this fish every other day instead of daily as well.

Thanks RadaR. Have done all you said this morning and the powerhead is now on order. Will feed every other day from now until the head goes in. Will let you know how things go.

Cheers :good:

Just a few quick queries if you don't mind.

1. Should I continue to dose at the same level EasyCarbo (2.5ml) EasyNitro (5ml) each day each day, (65L tank) and ProFito 10ml weekly?

2. Also should I just do a gravel vac and 20% water change weekly now the powerhead is in place?

3. Nitrates are still reading zero (I am aware they are not that accurate) despite the added dosing it's not showing any increase is this normal?

The BGA is still present in patches but has not spread any further.

The plants all look healthy, as are the fish and water is clear.

Thanks for any replies in advance. :good:
