Algae On Gravel

I have got a lot of build up of algae on my gravel. My water quality is fine (visabally and it has been tested). I have a pleco in there and 6 Golden Barbs. I have a gravel cleaner but it doesn't get rid of the algae. Does any1 no what causes the algae and the best way to get rid of it.

It's usually poor flow, ammonia and light that cause algae, what type of algae is it? OR is it Cyanobacteria?

Hi guys thanks for the replies. I try not to overfeed the fish and I don't think I do, it cud b due to light. What is the best way to clean the gravel. I have a gravel cleaner but it doesn't get the algae of.

nail brush does it for me when it's on my ornaments and stuff. When you do the water change do it then so the water won't slosh about. Just rub the nail brush over it.

And limit your time you have your light on. I had to because I get terrible algae otherwise. 5 to 6 hours a day is best
