It is time to get excited about the 2009 American Livebearer Association convention. I hope to be there starting this Thursday. The room reservations have been made and I will be spending much of tomorrow with last minute preparations. My Xenotaenia resolanae are looking good enough to sell a few adults as are the Xenotoca eiseni. (These are both goodeids so a little less common in the discussions under common livebearers). My Limia melanogasters have not produced enough fry yet for me to part with the breeders. My young mollies may end up with a few making the trip but they are not showing their best yet and are still only 1 1/2 inches long at just over 2 months old. I have become convinced that my X helleri late developing male is not fertile so will be looking for a nice wild type to help him with his duties, the females all seem more than ready. I have 3 empty cycled tanks so I am sure the auction will catch me doing some bidding.
Anyone in Illinois, Indiana or even Ohio should be able to make at least the Sunday auction, even if they miss out on the rest of the convention. My camera is coming along and it will not be left in my room. The convention brochure is located on this site if you are interested. http://www.ala2009.com/ Phil Nixon is our club president and Mike Matthews runs the Circle City club so I have met both in the past. I am looking forward to meeting lots of livebearer "celebrities" while I am there.

Hope you have fun! I would go but I live in Canada... lol
anyways enjoy it and let us know how it went!
