Airstone Questions

My 6 inch stone has a powerful enough pump and bubbles come out all the way along but it's not as good as it used to be. Do they need replacing after a while?

Also are the non branded stones as good as branded ones like interpet or elite? Thanks

yea, all airstones calcify after awhile.. if you notice you're having fewer bubbles but the air pump is still going strong you probably need to buy a new airstone.

i buy the least expensive airstones available.. the expensive ones don't seem to last longer or bubble better than the cheap ones. the only thing i've found with the lss expensive ones is that they sometime are gritty and need to be rinsed before use. it's worth the extrat two steps to save a few $$$ IMO.

Ah thanks, yeah the bubbles aren't as strong as they were. I'll get another one then.
