 Now she's changing her story.
That was the same "story" she told me before...when you all are talking about her saying she "couldn't cope".

I'm done with this. You all get so worked up about such a stupid thing. I have gotten bettas from BettaBum before. They are all healthy and well taken care of. The same why they came to me. As long as she's not neglecting them...you should be happy that she is finding good homes for them. Some people (jerks) would just flush them if they changed their minds.

I agree.

I am telling everyone not to trust this girl.

Please just ignore her. She lies. . . . too much! How can you deal with someone that constantly lies and changes her stories.

This will be my last remarks on this childish, irresponsible, girl.

....isnt she an adult?

Reading this thread makes my blood boil.

I'm not out to slander anyone, but I do feel that everyone needs to be warned about this girl. She has been buying and then rehoming bettas over and over again, with various excuses each time, and she apparently is now interested in breeding angels as well, even though she said in another forum she was "stretched too thin" both on money and time as an excuse to adopt out her bettas. Stretched too thin?? You think breeding cichlids is going to help?? I have a link to another forum where she talked about the angels, if anyone wants proof.
I have also heard several reports about her poor fishkeeping practices and the state of her bettas. I will be happy to provide a link to a site where these have been quoted word-for-word if asked, but since it is on the aforementioned other forum I cannot post the link in this thread directly as per forum rules.

I sent her a fish a while ago before I knew how deep this rabbithole went. I mailed it before receiving payment out of good will, since she had assured me the moneyorder was in the mail. I never got that moneyorder, I never got the second moneyorder she supposedly sent after bidding on another of my bettas on Aquabid (she said it was returned to her), and then she changed her mind about wanting that second batch of bettas altogether only after I asked if maybe getting more wasn't such a good idea since she was already adopting some out... now I realize that's a blessing for my fish. It has been over 2 months since she won that first auction (it ended May 9th, I checked,) and I have yet to see a dime. The postal service is slow, but not that slow. I paid to ship that betta with my own money, so basically that fish cost me $6. She can't afford to send me payment, but she can afford to buy yet more new bettas that will probably be given away as soon as the next fish comes along, I see. I'm not the only one she has basically stolen from either, check her Aquabid feedback. After sending her that fish I was also PMed on another forum by someone who had never received payment from her.

I'm sorry if my post is out of turn and out of character for me, but this girl is a liar, and I'm convinced she is an animal hoarder. Breeders, DO NOT EVER send her any fish of your own. It's time for this crap to come to light, I'm sick of seeing those who aren't in the know trying to defend her actions. There's a reason people are jumping on her, and a darn good one.

Edited to add more emphasis to the EVER :p

Whoa... Synirrrr . I love spicayy women . lol jk. anyways

-gives Synirr a standing ovation- It is quite pathetic for a person to buy bettas, harm them in trying to breed them, then throw them away to someone in bad condition, buy more, repeat this process 100 more times.

SHAME ON YOU

Thank you, Synirr! You got to it before I did.

I happen to be a person who has received her bettas. She didn't tell me that she was sending me a SBD case, and I had told her in a PM that I was not ready to take in any special needs bettas. At the time, I didn't know what to look for with certain illnesses, and internal parasites swept through my bettas. To date, I have had to put down many of my bettas. Which has led to me postponing my breeding (along with a few other factors). One of the bettas I received from her was a confirmed case of callamanus parasites.

BettaBum has also been known to buy other people's bettas and pet store bettas, and then turn around several weeks later to sell them at a marked-up price for her gain.

I am also a member of the forum that Synirr mentioned where BB said that she was getting out of bettas for awhile and wanted to get into cichlids. I am also witness to her other excuses that have already been re-posted here.

I hope someone calls the ASPCA on her. Something should be done about her practices.

No matter how old she is, she is acting like a girl. No woman in their right mind would be acting the way she does. She takes no responsiblity for what she does, nor will she admit that she has a problem.

I too have seen this girl numerously post for rescue bettas, and that's usually the only time she posts on here other to post pictures of her new bettas.

I have received 7 bettas from BettaBum. I have had no problems with any of them. They were all fat and healthy when they got here. Some had a little fin damage, but I was adopting them knowing that they were rescue fish.

But she has also sent me two perfect condition CTs. Those weren't rescues, she decided not to breed them and I wanted them, so she sent them to me.

I'm sorry that others of you have had bad experiences with her, but I have been interacting with her (and getting fish from her) for the last 4 months. I have yet to have any kind of problems with her. :/

I just got Aiden from her, and like fuman_chica, he's in almost perfect condition. He has a slight bit of fin damage, but it's obvious he's done that himself. He's happy, swimming fine, perky, and fat.

I haven't had a single problem either.

I take that as an offence to girls. :p ;) I'm 14 and I would be ashamed to act like this... seriously, bettas are breathing, living creatures.

I have not personally had dealings with Betta Bum but I have seen numerous bettas come and go... here's her original words from this topic.

Hey, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about exactly what I have the time, money and space for fish wise and I've realized that I've been stretching myself super thin on everything. I hope no one gets upset with me, I'm really thinking of the fish here. I'm keeping my girls tank and 3 or 4 of my favorite boys but I need to find good homes for the rest. So here they are

Wow. You managed to avoid acquiring new fish which will most likely eventually end up being given away for... less than a month.

Congratulations.
