Hello, I'm a new member and I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I have a giant danio that I've had for 12 years! I read online that their lifespan is much less than that. Does anyone else have a like experience? Thanks

It is encouraging and rewarding when a fish lives past the average normal lifespan. The average for this species is 5-7 years. :fish:

Hello and welcome to the forum, that is very impressive you must really take good care of your fish.

Welcome to the forum! What size tank? What tankmates? How often do you do water changes and how much water do you change each time? That's amazing that it has lived that long!

That's awesome! He must be pretty big for a Giant Danio! Did you add more to the school as he outlived his buddies?

I had a Jack Dempsey that lived over 15 years.

One of the oldest fish that I have is a cherry barb that is somewhere over 10 years old.
