Advice/suggestions For My 5ft Tank After Stocking Change

Do you have an MA near you? I know the ones near me have slashed prices on tanks recently

That price is online prices!! Yeah got a couple of MA's only problem is I only have a KA, kinda difficult to fit tanks in it

I know brasiliensis are lovely, havent seen any local in years though.

Sorry to rub it in but 500 was inc delivery (and a red spot sev ;)....i miss sammy) Mind if I ask what area of UK you are in as if we are close I can tell you where I got it from.

Nr Wolverhampton.

Stupid I know, got my rio 400 for £500 delivered, even those have gone up to £750!!

Always alot of bargains in classifieds....maybe wait for one to come up in the Midlands? or is there a rush?

No rush particulary, still couldnt fit one in the car though :p

I have the perfect fish, how about a nice blue texas!! kidding

Haha, Used to have one hun, Tex was lovely, til he hit 6", then he decided that he wouldnt live with anyone else, cept my ghost knife, by 8" he attacked him too, so I had to rehome him, shame cos he was great but deadly.

heya mags.....ok if you didnt make up your mind,

jaguar--remember brutis hehe say away unless a very big tank or species

vieja bifa---- i had she was more evil than brutis

salvini ----again pretty evil mine was in the 5ft-2ft-2ft and she was pint sized compared, still got her at my sisters house

jack dempsey --had a female she was actually very placid specimen but vieja beat %% outta her...hehe my girlz were evil..

now to pictus, beautiful species,i have four full grown, however if you have an oscar who like to pick fish up in his mouth then steer

clear as they have spikes under each fin and one above dorsal, feels like a very strong plastic, this gets caught very easy in nets

usually resulting in having to cut the net to free them, also this would get caught in the oscars mouth and id nearly garentee you

would not be able to pull the pictus back out, just a friendly word of warning hun

Hey hun, hows you doing?

Wasnt seriously considering a Brutis, gorgeous as they are. Decided against the Veija after alot of reading up, still unsure on the Sal or JD, most probably add another Severum, probably a Gold.

The pictus are tempting, Ive read alot of stuff about people keeping them together (and having to remove one from an Oscars mouth!!) I know Spishkey keeps two with her's, I assume without problems, so they are a maybe and hope Rosie (Oscar) realises they are not for eating

Can you think of anything else I could add?

Oh and the trigon is out, just cant afford to spend that much on a new tank, so back to the 4ft 63g, will allow me to add some corydoras to the mix (I miss my cories) and maybe a smaller cichlid, like an Aureus/Elliotti as the daemons are placid chaps with teeny mouths and wont be a problem.

well my chocolate cichlid got on with the oscars and is stunning, quite placid, i would lean towards something like a rainbow cichlid or maybe just leave it as that, maybe get a few holpo catfish mines around 9yrs now and did get with oscars,

How about a Uaru? not sure if the O would be to bolshy for one tho...nice looking fish when adult.

Ooooh the Ellioti is stunning, my two are gorgous, the male is a bit bolshy but its all show.
