If we are going out for the day I'll see if there are any shops in the area or say 'Hey fancy going to that garden centre to find stuff for the garden...oh look they have aquariums...lets go have a look' lol

The other half thinks its a bit weird that i can sit infront of the tank taking photos for hours....Takes a while to get that perfect shot. :good:

Oh and managed (god knows how) to persuade the wife to get a bigish tank 200L that is built into a bookcase. just got to save for it, I think it helped that I made it sound like her idea

I'm going to need your advice because my wife finds my obsession bit odd as well. :) 4 months ago I was living a normal hum drum life with zero interest in fish keeping....until she bought a 10gal tank for our boys and killed all the gold fish in it.
Now she thinks I am king fish nerd because all I do is fiddle and spend money on the tank, lurk this forum reading all I can, and sit and stare at my fish hours on end.
it would probably give her a heart attack if she new the plan I am working on!
A 6' sa cichlids Discus tank! :o buying things for it now piece by piece...and figure get the tank and stand delivered one day before she comes home from work....surprise!!

She came home to me installing the new RO water filtration system I bought, and said "oh how nice. We can have our own bottle water now."....yes baby. This water is for us. ;)

My name is Crossfire, and I'm a kuhli loach addict

I've tried to stop, but i can't do it! I shoot up kuhli almost every day and I smoke loach every other day... My friends have distanced themselves, and my family has lost contact. I lost my job because they did a random drug test and found i was over the legal limit of loach. I already on perol. Money's tight cause i keep buying more and more kuhli loaches! I need help! :shout:

Lol I don't need help i need more loachies!!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Mine started when my partner kept asking for a fish tank. i was not really bothered at the time, but now i can not stay away. she quite often tells me to calm down as i get over excited with new ideas.

This I can really identify with - it wasn't my idea in the first place but somehow I seem to have taken over. hmm..
Oh, and to the OP - 900 Gallons??!! Sounds like a swimming pool to me!

Ah - that technique seems familiar - I use it all the time!

for me it's not an addiction but it is an obcession :hyper:

I am a bit in love with my cory's and my platy's though

It's definitely an addiction for me! I adore my bettas. One day I had one betta, and he's the one who really got me bit! Next thing ma knew, I had 6 bettas, 2 mystery snails, and plans for some new fun fish! I had and goldfish when I was younger, and I found them fun. However, they all died fast (due to their tank being less than 2 cups of water...)! So when I was older and got my betta, Kitchi, I fell in love with him and did all my research. He was an impulse buy though xD when he passed, I knew I needed more. I know have 6 bettas! So, definitely an addiction for me! I decided to see how much I spent this year... I'm already up to like $60!!

Edit: Exact amount paid = $78.64

Oh maan! I know EXACTLY how you guys feel! I had a 10 gallon for two years and always wanted more. My hubby never wanted to spend the money on it, though!
But then, my new neighbors moved in who had a LOT of tanks, and I wheedled and cajoled, and went on strike... then the neighbor decided to get out of fish, so He gave me his tanks! :yahoo: :fish: :band: d:D I was off and running!

Now I am back down to just 3 tanks and my pond. When I first got my 100 gallon, I thought it was the biggest tank ever. Now I am already wanting a bigger one! How does this happen?

I spend every cent i have on fish. I am always thinking what can i sell on craigslist so i can set up a new discus tank :D

I met a girl at college whom I later married, her farther had died just before I met her and had kept fish for some years I adopted his tank which later turned into 7 tanks for breading corries, angels, guppies etc. Etc.

That was in 1979. (how old am I?)

I now own a 750 lt, a fluval edge, 50 lt and a 60lt (daughters)

So addict? I think so!

Lol the other half complains about how much i spend on bits and pieces for the tank....then I remind her what she spends money on... Magazines £12 PM, phone £40 books £10 PM. and me...£8 beer £20 phone and £10 on the tank... she soon quiets down :shifty:

I tried to call my sponsor! I was freaking out! I couldn't get a hold of him! I was hitting myself in the face telling me to snap out of it, and get a hold of myself! But I couldn't stand it. The urge was too strong! And without my sponsor answering the phone, I had no where else to turn! I let my addiction get the best of me! Ashamed as I am to say.......I bought another tank monday...
