Hi Guys,

I need to secure some acrylic pieces together, for use in the aquarium and wondered would aquarium grade silicone hold the joints sufficiently?

Or is there an acrylic cement/glue that is fish safe, that anyone has used or knows of?

Any info would be very helpful. Thanks.

well aquarium grade silicone holds aquariums together, i guess it would hold bits of plastic together too

thanks for the replies guys. silicone it is.

If you can allow the acrylic cement to cure away from your fish, it is far stronger than the silicone and would be safe for the fish once it has cured. It basically welds pieces of acrylic together using a solvent weld process. It is the stuff that is used to build acrylic tanks.
