The problem came from using frozen foods to long and not getting all the juices and stuff that carry phosphates and nitrates away by straining it.

Somewhat OT question, but how does one strain frozen foods? I have a feeling this is probably something I should be doing, but it never occured to me as a way to remove phosphates.
 
I melt the cube in tap water then use a coffe filter to get the water away from it then smash the food to get all the bad jucies out of it then I scrap it off the coffe filter and put it in a cup and then I Can just put it in the tank not sure its the best way but its my way. dave
 
Well, when I do do it (which is rare, I'm lazy), I thaw the food in a shotglass filled with RO, then pour it over a women's nylon stretched over a cup. Take the nylon off the cup and dump it in the tank...
