A Few Of My Oddballs

Why how old are you Dave always had you down as about 30 odd lol

Oooh Ben, any pics of your new cat yet?

Of course took them sat night:), they had 3 in the shop would of loved a spare tank to take them all!
Silly maidenhead people put them in their display tank so they had 3 people trying to catch the fish was hilarious:)
It spends most of its time upside down atm hopefully will settle shortly. My bichir did its taste test soon as i put it in, not sure why as theyre similar sized , since that incident no issues.

Nice size! Pet Shop near me (not quite an LFS) had some 3-4" ones in but for £15!!! Yours looks in really good condition too.

planet catfish says they get to 16.5 inch, then it goes on to say that 3 would be great in a 55 gallon, which my 4 foot tank is, i wouldn't like to keep a 16.5 inch fish in a 4 foot tank! is this really adequate?
i like the fsh but never thought my tank was big enough!
although im looking at my 6x3x2 pretty soon, it keeps getting put on hold as the rest of the house is being 'done up' at the moment!
might look into them when i get the bigger tank.
nice fsh!

It only cost me £20 , i think thats because they were customers fish that didn't know how big they grow.

Dave - they can grow up to around 20inch in the wild i think, im hoping to get this to 15-16 inch min. Yeh i read the bit about 4 in 55galon i'm not sure how they would fit as the 55galon wouldnt be wide enough and it would need to be very well filterd as these eat alot of things like prawn's , mussels feeders etc., this site says the same too. I've got it in a 4x2x2 and it has a fair bit of room. They do look wierd upside down all the time but it's common guess it loke clown loach and likes to rest in funny positions. If you are getting 6x3x2 presuming its 3 foot wide i think you could possibly look into the Zebra shovelnose as i believe that grows around 2foot , although they cost a few hundred to buy.
