hey all,
My 90 L tank is starting to really annoy me, i LOVE my flame dwarf gourami, but am considering taking him back to the lfs along with the 15 neons and 2 panda's (lost one today, was going to give them back anyway as not enough money to get the shoal they need) the algae is just out of controll, i can't clean everything because the fish and things get in the way, the sand needs changing as well, along with nicer plants.....

SO if i was to take them all back, what could i do with stocking?
I could ask them to keep gourami ( i love his personality  but i want him to be happy.
Another question is about the filter- how would i keep the bacteria alive when i clean the whole thing out? keep it in bucket of tank water while i do it quickely?

If i was to do this, it wouldn't be until i order my plants online - LFS's are terrible with the plants-

help please :/

Maybe your filter isnt big/powerfull enough for your tank? When I'm cleaning out my filter, i always do it in a big bucket of water I'v siphoned (excuse my spelling  )out my tank, and this keeps the bacteria good.

As for the fish.... i would just keep them and give the tank a good 'going over'. If they are getting in the way, stick them into a bucket (water taken from the tank again), that way you can get stuck in

Good luck :fun:

Stick the fish and the filter in a bucket or small storage container of tank water, take all the decor out, give it a good scrub down, fill it up again. You don't need to return the fish just to clean out the tank!

thank you both, i will take the cory's back in the morning and get out the 80 L tub i have, the filter is a hood filter thing, so just take the media out and put it in with them? i do have a little 50lph thing that i could shove some of the filter in if they need some sort of filter ??

As long as the media is wet in tankwater and the water is moving it will be fine. If you have an air pump you could set that up underneath it.
