6Ft Tank...

Awwww no way!! I totally understand though we are trying to buy a house in the near future and one of my criteria is that th floors must support my tank haha!! (as well as having room for more tanks and/or a fishroom....)

I would still be tempted to get it as it is a bargain and gives you thinking time - worst comes to worst you sell it for a profit?

Yeah i know, it probably would have been fine... But then there would have been that little thought in the back of my mind saying it was going to go through the floor. 6-700KG spread over 6ft... :/

Yeah do you know anyone that would be able to advise on it? I am lucky and have a floating floor so its not going anywhere - I am guessing yours is joists?

Can it not go in the living room? :shifty:

Not sure the missus would like him much if he did that

It's only in Wakefield Wills so it's closer to both you and me than him... :shifty: :hey:

I have a 4ft tank filled with tetras. 23 Neons, 10 Black widow and 12 Penguins. Lots of lovely activity but a bit mad at feeding time. They do enjoy having a planted tank as well, as far as I can tell.

I did just this in my 6ft x 2ft x 2.5ft.

I found that it didn't work that well, all of the focus was on the plants and tank rather than the fish. Even with 130 small fish in the tank you would "loose" them. I could never find my shoal of 40 ember tetras, my 50 rummy noses were rarely seen, infact only my guppies were regularly visible and it really looked a little bit rubbish.

I've ripped everything out and am in the process of cleaning it all and starting again :/

No space in the living room mate, unfortunately. And the missus would go barmy!

Raven, I am considering moving my 3ft stock to my 4ft and my puffers to the 3ft... :/

Cooper, sounds like you're having fun!

I cant imagine your joists wouldnt be able to hold it mate, man up.

Is the missus negotiable or does she have to stay? Come on this is a six foot tank were talking about. lol jk

Next question - do you have a garage?

Lmao would the garage be for the tank or his wife?!

Where would he offload a giant gourami and an 18 inch common plec anyway...

Well his LFS is Wharf so good chance there :) Maybe they give credit notes for wives as well?

Your LFS is wharf? Must be local to me aswell then :)

Yeah, I'm in kirkby, so I'm even closer than you as I believe you're in warsop?

The joists probably would hold it, but for how long and if they don't I'm in the sh..!!

No garage either.

I've come to terms of moving my 3ft stock to the 4ft, probably with a few little tweaks to the stock and then move my puffers into the 3ft as advised by nobody of the goat. Providing lily let's me as she does seem to like them in her bedroom... then I need a whole tanks worth of plants so a trip to the MA at East Bridgeford will be in need. Blimey, that's a lot of work for a council employee... :/
