Would it be wasted on 4 keyholes, 4 bolivian rams, cories and a massive shoal of tetra's? Would also include some catfish or a few albino bristlenoses.

Possibly low lit and tannin stained aswell. Sandy substrate, some smooth river rocks and some big massive clumps of java fern, crypts and moss.

As long as you fill it with LOTs and LOTs of plants it would not be wasted IMO.

how many Tetra's are you thinking? 75ish?

no that sounds awesome mate.

heavily planted with a huge group of tetras would look sweet. there are many people that as soon as they get a big tank immediatly look for big fish but for someone to have the balls to go down this route is great.

huge group of tetras
huge group of corys
bolivian rams x4
angelfish x 6
few bristlenose

lots of plants and bogwood and pebbles etc

if you keep the tetras all the same as with the corys it would look superb :good: i dare ya..... :hey:

but i can guess you knew i would say this anyway

the cost would probably be the only thing to hold you back with all the plants and wood then a group of about 80+ tetras wont be cheap but worth it i think. you can always build up the group in stages which will be a bit more managable.

Depends on what tetra's you're talking about. :hey:

Well I love Cardinals so if it was me thats what I would pick. I know people will say they are common as muck but they are still my favourite Tetra.

How many EX1200 will you need on a 6ft tank?

I think a ton of either Green Neon Tetras or Regular Neons Tetras would look amazing . Yes, they are common, but they look fabulous in a huge shoal.

Will run two 1200's on it. :D

Matt, after our little chit chat earlier it got me thinking. :grr:

I do want keyholes in there somewhere though.

Cardinals die on me... Always!

Neons, glowlights or rosey tetras. :good:

At the start of my tank I lost about 8 Cardinals but have not lost one for ages now, (touch wood) They dont like new tanks.
I even had one with a massive eye about a month ago and he is fine now, I was sure he was going to die but I just did an extra 50% water change that week.

lots of people get a large tank then jump to large fish, but IMO i would love to do what you plan on doing, a large tank, lots of plants and amazing life in it, if it was me i would go for cardinals as they are amazing IMO

great respect for what you're doing, i would love to do the same.

Haha jourdan, thanks, I will pm you my address! might be a bit dead though when they arrive?
