65 Gallon Tank And I'm Wondering If There Is Still Room For A Smal

If thats a 65 UK gallon tank you have no issues what so ever with over stocking so far. The main concern present for me is that you dont have proper numbers for your cories. To top up your tank I would do something like -

2 angelfish
1 dwarf gourami
7 black neon tetras
8 x-ray tetras
2 platys
5 skunk corys
5 green corys
5 albino corys

Now ive bumped them upto 5 as that would put you at 15 cories which I think is fine in that tank and the mix of fish is great but one thing to point out is the green cories are actually a species of fish called brochis also called hog catfish, I have only recently seen adult brochis and had only seen small ones before that looked similar to the bronze cories but with the green tint. However the adults I have seen are huge!! I mean I seriously could not believe how big they were compared to cories I have seen some big cory catfish in my time but these were a substantial catfish so that said I would perhaps consider swapping them for more of your albino and skunk cories.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I will forego getting a pleco in favor of getting more corys. I was hoping they would be happy frolicking with the current numbers. Also, the tank is 65 US gallons not UK. The dimensions are 36x18x24"tall. Thanks again.

Hi, I have a tall, planted, 65 gallon tank that houses the following:
2 baby angelfish(about 1&1/2 inches each)
2 black neon tetras
4 corydoras
2 platys
1 black phantom tetra
1 gold gournami(2&1/2 inches)
1 dward gournami


What do you think, do I still have room for a school of tetras? I'm not sure what kind yet(any suggestions would be nice), but i'm thinking about 8 to 10 smaller sized tetras would make a nice additions to the tank. There is plenty of room to hide(very friendly tank, they all play nice) and/or play in the cave decor, amazon swords and baby water lettuce.

Also, I have a friend who told me not to get the gouramis because they will fight with the angels. This doesn't seem to be the case at the moment. I see them swimming past eachother constantly , with no tell tale signs of stress whatsoever so i'm not sure why he was so adamant against it.

I would also like to get 2 more corys and 1 bristlenose pleco, but I don't know if that would be too many bottom dwellers for one tank.

keep in mind that even if the gold gourami doesnt fight with the angels, its very possible, and i'd say likely that it will pick on the dwarf gourami eventually.

You're not technically overstocked, but if you think it looks crowded then you may have a balance issue. What you have is a fairly deep tank, when compared to it's length. In my opinion, what you're looking for is a selection of fish that remains within stocking level recomendations, whilst still maintaining an aesthetic equalibrium.
