The boyfriend has just had a good look at the laminate flooring in the front room where the tank is going and the floor is not that flat (Dont know what on earth they done in the house before we got it but the middle of the room the floor is raised and dips at the ends) He took the board up between the door frame and it looks like the laminate is placed on the green fibre underlay. We have found another possible place it can go but how is it best to sit the tank.

I see some people sit it on polyestrene, others wood and some people nothing. I am just afriad that the tank will have problems if it is not sitting flat on the floor...

any advice?

Worse comes to worse the boyfriend will have to cut some of the laminate up so the tank can sit on the concrete beneath :hyper:

It will be the concrete that's not level below the floor normally.

The green stuff is levelig boards - used to take out any minor levelling issues. If it's just laminate on top of green boards then it will almost certainly be an uneven floor below - so cutting a hole won't help!

It depends on how big the slope is and what type of stand it is. You might be able to just put a strip of wood across the back on the floor to level it out.

I think that the first place we wanted it the difference in the slope was 1"!!!! The other side is not half as much and only slopes off at one end slightly...

The tank I have is a 350litre Cleair with a cabient 16" wide by 1200mm long... was debating taking the plastic feet off and putting a layer of hardboard on the floor and the tanks cabient bottom directly on that

Hi, my 260l is on laminate and my floor is not perfect, although the cabinet is very sturdy so I put it in place with the tank on top let it settle for a day - packed up the differences under the "8" feet to get it level and have never had a problem, although 1" is quite a drop - hope all goes well

Paul.

my 216 litre is on laminate, slightly out maybe 1 or 2 cms,i noticed it when i filled the tank.

i do as someone suggested already and fill any gaps under the feet to make it even. ive found coins are very good for this purpose. you can place a spirit level on top of the tank and use that as your guide. i must have about €50 spread out under the feet of all my tanks )))wonky old floors(((

As long as it's high in the middle of the room and slows down to the edges, you should be fine with some shims as mentioned. The problem comes in when it's low in the middle of the room so that the tank would lean out, leaving the potential for it turning over. With it leaning back toward the wall, you shouldn't have any problems.
