In like 4-6 moths I will be going a 300 gallon tank. I will move my Oscar/Peacook Eel, Bllood Parrot, Silver Dallors(3) and Clown Lochs(2).

Hera rae other stuff i would like to add Rope Fish(3), Fire eel, Pacu, Bichir, Ghost fish and a Barracude. Can I keep any of this tank?

If I cant keep the Rope Fish in this tank? Can I keep 1-2 in a 58 with my african Clawd frog? Or 48 with a bule Lobster?

Thank You

Yes if ther no fight, killing or eat each other.

Barracuda will most likely outgrow the tank same for the Pacu - the Pacu will def do it. The rest could work but the Oscar could reject some of the fish - the blood parrot could be in trouble as due to their deformed faces they can not fight back that well.

:hyper: :hyper: a fish stoe i went to had some 300 gals and i was IN LOVE!!!!!! they had cichlids in theirs. wow you are so lucky... that would be my ultimate dream tank, a 300gal :good:

when it is all together, post some pics! :)

It will be moths befo I get this tank up. Im just doing my home work eary.

Thw main 2 thing I want is a rope fish and a oscar. If the cant keep the with each other. I could put them in my 58 gallon tank.

It should be fine, and its a good starting point - Oscars are so unique though and its not always straight forwards to getting them that will accept tank mates. Its a little hit and miss but I think Reed Fish and the Oscar are a good option :)

I used to have a reed fish in with 2 oscars and they never bothered him. Very interesting 2 watch also the reed fish are. I wouldn't mix the eels though as they will fight for food. And probably just fight in general both trying to hide in the same spot during the day. As Wills said the Pacu and Barracuda are no no's. Also you have named alot of bottom dwelling fish eels, ghost fish, bichir these will all be competing for food :good: Also did you see panorama the other week about pets at home? Im sure they said something about african clawed frogs letting of toxins that are dangerous to fish. I may have heard wrong though?

I had Rope fish befo with a Eel. When I add the rope fish in the tank. The eel would come out a lot more and swim with the rope fish. I never keep a rope fish with a oscar. With a big tank like this. I think it would be neat watch them with each other. I will add the rops fish to tank tank befo the oscar. Then the oscar will be the new guy in the tank. Then maby they will live fine with each other.

I read that Rope fish can get up to 36" and wep page say they can be in a 50 gallon fish tank. I think 36" is to big for a 50 gallon tank.

With most fish that would be true but with certain fish that are "eel-like" they have the ability to bend in such a way as to fit in smaller areas and do very little swimming. Salt Water eels are good examples of this. They get quite large but seldom leave their home.

Not in my opinion. You could keep 1 in a 58 gallon tank but that's just my opinion.

I've never kept one so my info is based only on what I've read and heard other say. What I understand about the lung fish is that they do well with other large but non-aggressive fish. They are also considered more difficult to keep due to their size and carnivorous diet.
