You want the output to point away from the intake tube.
The output spray bar is pointing straight down at the moment to get max flow onto the plants, would this provide the best circulation?
That's what I was told as well, but the flow isn't powerful enough to be felt when I put my hand in front of the front glass, it kind of dies off about half way through the depth of the tank.snazy said:

The best way is to point the spray holes so the flow hits the front glass, the flow will then slide down, travel towards the bottom and go back up to the spraybar. This will provide enough oxygen for the fish providing the spraybar ripples the surface, and also the best circular flow for the plants.
