Hmm, ill try to find a few different stores that will sell them to me How many should/could i keep in my tank alongside the 2 bristlenose and 8 danios?
Well im running a Fluval External Canister (Fluval 104 i think it was, is in first post just lazy at the moment) and soon the 400LPH air pump for the 60cm air stone.
Ill see if i can find some nice looking ones for the tank. Thank you rabbut.
Should i introduce fish one species at a time or all at the same time? (like danios first, then BN, then gouramis for example, or just put them all in on the same day)
Water update for 24 hours ago:
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 40
Water update for 12 hours ago:
Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 40
Looking good, im continuing to feed the tank like i normally would. I even tried to put WAY more then i would feed a full stock tank just to make sure it could process larger amounts of ammonia in 12 hours and its all fine.
Hey out of curiosity, why couldnt i add the BN's or Gouramis to the tank once it is definitely cycled?
Also, how often should frozen blood worms be fed? I bought some for when i get fish, and my brother has fed them to his guppies one time and wanted me to ask if he can feed it more often?
And my question also is, can bloodworms be used as a conditioning food for a breeding pair of fish?
I'd advise waiting for the BN's and DG, as they tend to be a little delicate. They do best in a mature tank. A fish tank has 3 stages of running, new, cycled and mature. New speaks for itself, cycled is when ammonia and nitrite are removed by the filter and always read zero (ordrop to it in 12 hours for fishless cycling with ammonia) and mature is after everything has settled down and become more stable.
Bloodworm can be fed weekly without issues, but isn't a great long-term diet, as it contains lots of fat that can caurse issues. It can be used to condition fish for breeding, but there are better foods for it IMO
Ah i see. What type of foods should i buy then? I dont want to harm any of my future fish Hmm if i fed it as a treat once a week, would it cause issues to them?
people often feel like they're giving their fish the best food if they go with live food but it's really not the case.
a good quality processed food (flakes, pellets etc) is designed to give good all round nutrition and you get different ones for different fish, there's some that are high vegetable content for fish that need it for example.
so your staple diet should be a good quality processed food, i usually rotate have 3/4 tubs on the go and swap them around day to day then they get either live or frozen meaty treats maybe once a week or once a fortnight and veggies every couple of days for the fish that need them like the bristlenoses.
I have purchased Nutrafin Max Tropical Flake Food, as a staple diet for the fish. Just looking for some variety to feed from time to time as a treat for them Give them some excitement in food lol. Which is why i bought the blood worms.... Would i be better off buying frozen brine shrimp? Id buy live ones and colonize them constantly but to much effort to keep them growing strong from what ive been reading, plus i dont have the room lol.
How important is bogwood for BN's? From looking at my tank i dunno were i would even fit a piece of it
Ah okay, then thats good for me I have not much space lol. Im thinking about getting some taller plants, along with some java moss for some "natural" caves (hiding the pot colour and stack of rocks lol)
Any plants that dont need to much requirements? Apart from java moss..
