Big series between KC and Cleveland starting today with both striving for a wildcard spot. KC is 2 games out and Cleveland 2.5 games out.
After the 2016 World Series I should hate the Cubs as Cleveland lost in 7 games but I don't. One never knows but I doubt that the Cubs would have won that series if not for Cleveland's starting pitcher, Trevor Bauer, being an idiot and slicing a finger on his pitching hand open working on a drone. He tried to pitch in the series but the umps demanded he be removed as the stitches didn't hold and you could see blood dripping from his hand on TV. Actually I'm surprised that he was even allowed to start the game as the 10 stitches on the finger would have to be considered a foreign substance which is not allowed.Cubbies clinch a wild.card!
Still, that was one awesome series! Grumble!!!! LOL! I had a bet with a Cubs' fan at work and ended up having to buy a Cubs' championship hat and wear at work for a week.Dude that was a great series! Back and forth and every game was good. I still can't believe the Cubs won a WS in my lifetime.
1.5 games back is very doable for you. I hope they focus on locking up the wild card first, then go win the division. Those series with Detroit are the key.
You may have an opportunity foe revenge .Grumble!!!! LOL! I had a bet with a Cubs' fan at work and ended up having to buy a Cubs' championship hat and wear at work for a week.![]()
It is possible but I have doubts about the offense as they are just too inconsistent which is odd as they have some relay good hitters but they, too often, just don't 'string 'the hits. You may have an opportunity foe revenge .
Ya, even other teams announcers have said that Cleveland has the best farm system. The trick is that all the way from the rookie league to triple A they always use the same game plan as the MLB team. This means that a player coming to Cleveland from the farm has a lot less that they need to learn. I don't see why other teams don't do this as it just makes sense. You should feel good about the future. Both those guys came up through Clevelands farm system.
I don't keep up with a lot of minor league ball but it sounds like you guys have a solid system of draft and development.
