True. But BGK have a small mouth. I don't think it would be able to swallow a 6'' pleco. Plus plecos have sharp spines and yours has bristles. My 6-7'' BGK can't swallow a 3-4'' piece of tiliapia. I have to cut it 1'' for him to eat it.

Fair enough ill maybe add one then. I might wait till last just to make sure the BNs have a head start on them.

Good choice on the Sturisomas but the Festivum are hard to find but if you can get them go for it :)

I know some where that sells them for £8.50 which seems a fairly good price.
so
2 rotkeil sevs
1 chocolate cichlid
1 BGKF
5 redhead tapajo geos
4 BNs
1 banjo catfish
4 sturisomas festivnm
A group of dithers still not sure

Does that look alright?

Sounds good to me :good: and £8.50 is a good price for a defined species of whiptail IMO usually you see them labeled as whiptails for about £5-8 and then the defined species start around £12 usually.

There labelled as royal whip tails and ive done a bit of searching and they look identical to festivums to me and a few places use that as a common name. Im not sure if ill go for the full stock or maybe try and get some of the fish to breed and leave out some of the other fish.

In all honesty I wouldnt call that tank 100% stocked yet so I wouldnt worry. Im planning a 4x2x2 soon and getting a few of the fish to grow on now (though I know I should not and would never recomend it) but at the same time they are all fish that would be okay in my tank at present and while I dont have a big big SA like the chocolate planned like yours Im probably with more fish than you right now and I would still feel okay adding more to the 120g when it comes.

I have seen the 4x2x2 of one of the best fish keepers in the country, its the display tank in his house and he never publishes pictures or details on the internet about his tank as people would literally explode at what he is doing but he is having a lot of success with it and to be honest a good 60% of what I know and recommend is from what I learned through him and seeing just how far he pushed his tank yet still had fin perfect fish and a hell of a lot of breeding going on.

Also the other thing to remember is, realistically are you 1000% certain you will be keeping all these fish for their full life? Because I must have rehomed 6 or 7 feature fish over the last few years while I work out exactly which fish I want I mean for example some sevs have the most boring personalities ever or are timid and hide a lot and you end up like hamfist did and swap everything though perhaps not as extreme but you see what I mean I would rather experiment with fish to get to a point that I am happy with every fish in the tank at the end of the day its not a cheap hobby and with larger tanks its quite a commitment so I would much rather be 100% happy with every aspect of the tank rather than make a series of compromises like you would for a 10-15 gallon tank if you see what I mean?

Fair enough. IMO the best way to stock is try it and through your own experiances. If it works and there all happy evan if it looks over stocked if it works then no one can complain.

Without seeing it i cant say much but the best way to tell the limits is to try and if it work and every thing is happy and healthy then at the end of the day you cant there cant be much wrong with the tank.

Yeah i agree if it works then why not. My 30G looks overstocked on paper but the water and the fish are all perfect so i can be doing much wrong i know thats alot different to bigger tanks and bigger fish but same rule. Sometimes things wont work out but if it takes a few trys to get everything perfect then its worth it at the end for you and the fish. Hopefully it will work out and ill keep the fish for the lives but i dont know really ill see hat works and what doesnt and see if anything needs changing once i get it up and running.

Sounds like a good stocklist to me. :)
As for dithers, spotted silverdollars will do the trick :) They max out at around 5-6''.
As per the BGK comment on feeding, my BGK loves tilpia and shrimp. Frozen bloodworms and guppies as a treat.

I though they got bigger than that. Im sure nelly has one of these that about 9" but i might be thinking of a different type.

Thanks, I think ill stay away from feeders though not worth the risk IMO unles home bred but i havent go the space and theres not much point.

Wills do you think a female Nicaragua Cichlid would work in there aswell? i think the answer will be no but just wondered because ive always thought yours looks stunning.

There are over four kinds of spotted silverdollars. They all range from 5-6'' to 10''.
So Nelly must have one of the larger kind.
The kind you want to get is metynnis lippincottianus
