Fortune shined down on me, I was handed a 29g tank (-the fish)that has been up and running for several years. Have  had it cycling for a month just to make sure its all good. I have added some plants a dwarf gourmia, few swordtails, some Emerald Green Corys(love these guys) and would like  something else for a splash of color, still looking/deciding. I have missed having an aquarium. Looking forward to learning  about tanks and fish once again

:hi: to the forum.

Do you have any pictures of your tank? I'd love to see them!

What are the exact numbers of your stocking?

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Would be good if you could let us know what differences there are to the hobby today compared to 15 years ago, would truly be interesting to know what has changed.
Can only think of fishless cycle and perhaps stocking numbers being different, equipment must be better now.

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, last I had a tank it had a little square filter that ran off a air pump.  Then I graduated up to undergravel filtration. :). I use to change 75% water every other month. Now I read that i should change 25% or better every week.  I like the idea of a fishless cycle!
As far as my fish go. 1 Dwarf Gourmia. 3 Swordtails(1m,2f), 4 Emerald Corys and 5  Strawberry Rasbora(just ordered). Expecting some driftwood soon, So I will take pictures once everything is finished.

Welcome to the forum!
I wish you success in your quest to the best!

Glad you got back into the hobby! It is considered better to to weekly, small water changes now. What kind of fish did you keep 15 years ago? I'm curious to see if you went with what you knew or just tried someone different. Welcome to the forum!

Your stocking looks pretty good, the only thing would be to bump the numbers of your cories and rasboras up to at least 6 and they will be a lot happier :)
