I would say Pearl all the way! Pearls can be kept in pairs as they are far less aggressive than other types of gouramis. Most fish are not going to be as colorful in a shop, and gouramis much more so probably bc there are so many in a tank and the tank is not set up to replicate their natural...

The only moss I haveused before is java but I wouldn't recommend it for a carpet, as mine always gets leggy... i love the look of Christmas moss tho and I've also heard great things about Taiwan moss too!! My first ever plant order was for 10 anubias plants and I've been thinking about placing...

Yiiikkesss I think I used way too much medication! I used 4 packets :blush:    I am very nervous about my tank at this point, when I decided to use this method, there was so much flashing going on.. pretty scarey.  I'm pretty sure it's gill flukes, it's just tricky bc I can't really see any...

^Agreed. Variety is very important with any cory. I will admit it is extremely hard for me to get any type of frozen treat to my cories bc of my betta. I'm thinking that might be an issue here too.

May I ask how long you have had the cories?? I ask bc sometimes they can take a bit to adjust to a new feeding schedule.   A week is far too long for any fish to go without eating. Love it!!!! The black substrate really makes me wish I didn't go with playsand, but you do what you can right?   Have you ever considered a pearl gourami? It sure would look beautiful in this tank...    but gouramis aren't shrimp safe are they?
