few questions about zebra danios...

Are they easy to keep (easier than tetras?) very sensitive to water changes? they hardy? do they need a heated tank(my tap water temperature is 17C will that be alright?)? do they need a planted tank? are they active? botom, mid top dwellers? do they need a hiding spot?

how many of them can i keep in a 12 gallon?
i heard that they are fin nippers.. would they nip other zebra danios fins if they grow big fins?

thanks

i've kept zebra danios now for nearly 2 years, yes they are hardy fish ,
they need a heated tank, i've never found them to be fin nippers,
thet are avery active little fish, mine are always playing in the current from my filter, they are top dwellers, mine love playing by dashing in and out of the plants, they are in my comunity tank and get along fine with the rest of my fish, :)

I also have some in my community tank. They're great little fish - very active and forever darting here there and everywhere

have you noticed gadazobe how they are always first in the food chain , :)
does'nt matter were there hiding they always manage to get to it first :)

actually, most things ive read say they're happy in colder water, too - like 70 degrees. That's non-heater temperature.

thanks for the reply :D
