Just be careful. There is another Plec that looks similar to the zebra plec.
You could dip out otherwise.

My lfs had something called a columbian zebra plec or something. It had been sold for 30 quid, i asked what the difference was to the 'proper' one he said the white was a bit creamy and the black was a bit grey. As oppose to the proper stark black and white.

There is only one zebra, it is unmistakable. When the tail is opened, the stripes through it are horizontal not up and down. No other black and white striped Hypancistrus has this characteristic.
